Wellington House, Colchester_Office Refurbishment.

O’Brien and Noel Architects were commissioned to provide an overview of the existing Wellington House site and context and provide a series of preliminary design options exploring different internal layout options and the aesthetics and construction methodology of several different cladding systems.

These preliminary drawings are meant for the purposes of the feasibility stage only, as a full intrusive survey of the existing building will be required to accurately determine the layout and nature of the existing structure.

The site is situated away from any historical or designated conservation area. However, the building is eight storeys high and careful consideration must be given to proposed materiality of the renovation/ reclad as the proposed design will likely be visible from the wider city context, including conservation and historical areas.
